Dear Fox, old friend, thus we have come to the end of the road that we were to go together. My tale is finished - and so farewell.

But before I go, I have just one more thing to tell you:
Something has spoken to me in the night, burning the tapers of the waning year; something has spoken in the night, and told me I shall die, I know not where. Saying:

"To lose the earth you know, for greater knowing; to lose the life you have, for greater life; to leave friends you loved, for greater loving; to find a land more kind than home, more large than earth…"

"Whereon the pillars of the earth are founded, toward which the conscience of the world is tending - a wind is rising, and the rivers flow."

The magical adventures described in Chris Van Allsburg’s “The Polar Express”, did little to satisfy Erik’s hunger. Famished to wit’s end, he began to feast on the wholesome fibers of the back cover.

Now Ronnie, I’m beginning to question your level or motivation concerning your space mission.  I may be wrong, but it seems like you are headed towards a shortfall with this galactic goal of yours.  Hear me out.  I’m sure that South Carolina has it’s merits, but height is not one of them. After a quick googleling, I have learned that the mean elevation dwells at 350 feet.  Pitiful.  But wait, drumroll please…the highest altitude within this stubby state is accomplished by the irreproachable zenith of Sassafras Mountain at 3,560 feet!  First off, I’m a bit skeptical about whether it even exists… that sounds like a made-up name to me.

Colorado is tallerado and we are all about being high.  As the native of the group, I find it within my heart’s providence to educate you with a few fun facts.

Ø Earned from characteristics of such as stature and inebriation, one of Colorado’s nicknames is the “rocky mountain HIGH state”.
Ø highest continuous US highway
Ø the highest paved road in the US
Ø highest auto tunnel in the world
Ø highest incorporated city
Ø tallest sand dunes in the US
Ø highest mean altitude
Ø highest suspension bridge in the world
Ø highest peak in the rocky mountains (14,440 feet) (and it doesn’t sound like a made-up name)
Ø Denver is at exactly 5,280 feet in elevation, which is just cool.
Ø Highest standards

Furthermore, did you know that more astronauts come from Colorado than any other state, such as South Carolina?  Maybe you’ve heard of Jack Swigert?

The decision is in your hands… but just remember that in Colorado, you’re closer to space.
